Dumagat (Philippines). And another message from the new deacon Esitio (Tio) Niuliki (USA).

Nous
proposons deux textes de nos nouveaux diacres ordonnés: Don Brian Malnegro et
Jose Marie Dumagat. L'un est plus témoignage et l'autre est une chronique de
l'ordination. Et un autre message du nouveau diacre Esitio (Tio) Niuliki.

To be ordained as a deacon is not an easy life. God is inviting me to be aware that the true meaning of life is to work hard to serve others. Serving other people is a gift and a grace at the same time. It needs a humble heart to be able to serve well to others as an expression of unconditional love.
When I was in Japan I worked as a volunteer in one of the biggest home for the aged in Yamagata City. The people on that place spoke a different language which is very different from the capital of Japan, Tokyo City. Life in Yamagata is simple compared in Tokyo. I don’t understand that much about the language that they used. I remember serving an aged woman on her 105 years old, language was not a barrier. Instead, it was the language of love that bonds us and connects us and not on how good I spoke the Japanese language. It was more on how I showed my true love to them. Serving these aged persons is a great memory to me. Their smiles, encouragement and love helped me to be more determined in living a life serving others. In Japanese culture, serving others is very significant and an outstanding mark. Thus, my life as a deacon is a challenge on how to live a life of service.
In my community in Japan most of the members are in their advance age already. Some of them are too busy and tired just to respond to the demands of life. One of the gestures that I remember is to serve one another with a cup of tea. By drinking Tea or any kind of refreshing drinks during the meal bear a resemblance to our experiences in life as a religious by pouring a delicious cup of tea to one another. I hope that a simple gesture of serving my own community will attract new birth of Japanese vocation at our present time. To serve others means to prioritize the needs of others over my own needs as a person. All of us are called to serve, not to be served. Again, it is a challenge and it helps me to commit myself in the life of service for the greater glory and honor to God which is the primary goal.
Last February 2 at three o’clock in the
afternoon we were ordained as a deacon. The ordination was a solemn celebration
presided by His Excellency Bishop Nolly C. Buco and concelebrated by the Provincial
of Japan and Philippine Province Reverend Father Kenji Honma, sscc and the rest
of the sscc priests. The Sscc sisters were also present and some religious from
the different congregations. It was a successful celebration. Thanks to the generous and kind people who
made the ordination successful.
Allow me to end with this
quote from Mother Teresa: “Let us always meet each other with smile, for the
smile is the beginning of love.”

"As the Son of Man who has come, not to be served by others but to
serve, to give his own life as a ransom for the many.” As our theme expressed the
meaning of our celebration invites us, Rev. Don Brian De Asis Malnegro, SS.CC.
and Rev. Jose Marie Trinidad Dumagat, SS.CC., the newly ordained deacons to
welcome the challenges of which Jesus invited us to embrace and live-in as we
step forward on our journey as SS.CC. religious and be a servant of all. The ordination to the Sacred Order of Deacons
was celebrated last February 02, 2019 at 3: 00 o’clock in the afternoon at the
Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Light Parish whose at the same day was the feast
of Our Lady of Light and that day the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. The celebration was presided by His
Excellence Most Reverend Nolly C. Buco, JCD, D.D., the Auxiliary Bishop and at
the same time the present Parish Priest of the Shrine in the Diocese of
Antipolo.
After the ordination, the whole family gathered in the auditorium to partake the banquet of thanksgiving with our meal and entertainment from the group of youth in our ministry areas. It was a wonderful celebration with gratitude and thanksgiving to God for this meaningful event in our lives as newly ordained deacons of the congregation. May the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary always keep us zealous and with conviction to serve the people in our ministries.

Ser ordenado diácono no es para una vida fácil. Dios me está invitando a ser consciente de que el verdadero significado de la vida es trabajar duro para servir a los demás. Servir a otras personas es un don y una gracia al mismo tiempo. Se necesita un corazón humilde para poder servir bien a los demás como una expresión de amor incondicional.
Cuando estuve en Japón, trabajé como voluntario en una de las casas más grandes para ancianos en la ciudad de Yamagata. La gente en ese lugar hablaba un idioma diferente que es muy distinto al de la capital de Japón, la ciudad de Tokio. La vida en Yamagata es simple comparada con la que transcurre en Tokio. No entiendo mucho sobre el lenguaje que usaron. Recuerdo haber servido a una mujer mayor con 105 años, el lenguaje no era una barrera. En cambio, fue el lenguaje del amor lo que nos une y nos conecta, y no fue por lo bien que hablé el idioma japonés. Fue sobre todo cómo les mostré mi verdadero amor. Servir a estas personas de edad es un gran recuerdo para mí. Sus sonrisas, ánimo y amor me ayudaron a vivir más decididamente una vida al servicio de los demás. En la cultura japonesa, servir a los demás es muy significativo y una marca sobresaliente. Por lo tanto, mi vida como diácono es un desafío sobre cómo vivir una vida de servicio.
En mi comunidad en Japón, la mayoría de los miembros ya están con edad avanzada. Algunos de ellos están demasiado ocupados y cansados para responder a las demandas de la vida. Uno de los gestos que recuerdo es servirse el uno al otro con una taza de té. Al tomar té o cualquier tipo de bebidas refrescantes durante la comida se asemejan a nuestras experiencias en la vida como religiosos al servirnos una deliciosa taza de té. Espero que un simple gesto de servir a mi propia comunidad atraiga un nuevo nacimiento de la vocación japonesa en nuestro tiempo presente. Servir a otros significa priorizar las necesidades de los demás sobre mis propias necesidades como persona. Todos nosotros estamos llamados a servir, no a ser servidos. Nuevamente, es un desafío y me ayuda a comprometerme en la vida de servicio para la mayor gloria y honor para Dios, que es la meta principal.
El pasado 2 de febrero, a las tres de la tarde, fuimos ordenados diáconos. La ordenación fue una celebración solemne presidida por Su Excelencia el Obispo Nolly C. Buco y concelebrado por el Provincial de Japón y Filipinas, Kenji Honma, sscc y el resto de los sacerdotes sscc. Las hermanas sscc también estuvieron presentes y algunas religiosas de las diferentes congregaciones. Fue una celebración exitosa. Gracias a las personas generosas y amables que hicieron la ordenación tan hermosa.
Permítanme terminar con esta cita de la Madre Teresa: "Nos encontraremos siempre con una sonrisa, porque la sonrisa es el principio del amor".

En la celebración, nuestra familia SSCC, hermanos y hermanas, compartieron con nosotros la celebración de la gran alegría y el agradecimiento a Dios por el don de la vocación que Dios nos había dado, también nuestras familias (mi madre y mi hermano menor también están presentes, los padres y los hermanos de Brian estaban allí) y amigos que muestran su gran apoyo en este día tan especial.
Después de la ordenación, toda la familia se reunió en el auditorio para participar del banquete de acción de gracias con nuestra comida y entretenimiento del grupo de jóvenes en nuestras áreas de ministerio. Fue una celebración maravillosa con gratitud y agradecimiento a Dios por este evento significativo en nuestras vidas como diáconos recién ordenados de la Congregación. Que los Sagrados Corazones de Jesús y María siempre nos mantengan con celo apostólico y con la convicción de servir a las personas en nuestros ministerios.

A Reflection for my Profession of Final Vows and my Ordination for Diaconate

Reflecting on these two events there are lot of blessing and challenges where I find the joy of my call to the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. It was a great experience to face the joy of the gospel in reaching out to certain issues in my journey where I find the loving mercy of God in this particular world. (Scripture; Mat 6:21 ) “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Of course, life outside in the field gives me the opportunity to explore more and feel the love of God is truly an unconditional gift to each individual members of His vineyard. Thanks to God that people are so kind and generous with such good loving hearts to my presence in the parish.
I believe that it was really a great day to celebrate together with St Mary Parish, the Sacred Hearts Brothers and Sisters, and friends and my family, from the Island of Wallis and Futuna, New Caledonia and France, all who showed their continuing support throughout the next step of my vocation. How beautiful to feel the spirit of family is alive and active in our world. It is a great day to feel the presence of family in my journey. There are lots of experiences where I find my heart is yearning and longing to feel the joy of God’s love in my ministry as well as my community. I hope that all I have experienced in the parish is the opportunity to see clearly the beauty of God’s love to my vocation.
Una reflexión en torno a mi profesión perpetua y a mi ordenación de diácono por
Esitio (Tio) Niuliki, ss.cc.
Para entender el corazón de mi viaje en mi vida y en mi diaconado, la experiencia en la parroquia me da la fuerza para crecer más en mi relación con Dios y con su pueblo. Es una experiencia hermosa donde descubrí mi disposición a servir en la viña del Señor. Mucha gente me ha preguntado: ''¿Hno. Tio, te pones nervioso? Respondo: "Por supuesto, estar nervioso es parte de mi preparación, pero su presencia me da valor para fortalecer mi deseo de ser el instrumento de la Iglesia".
Reflexionando sobre estos dos eventos hay muchas bendiciones y desafíos en los que encuentro la alegría de mi llamada a la Congregación de los Sagrados Corazones de Jesús y María. Fue una gran experiencia enfrentar la alegría del evangelio al tratar ciertos temas en mi viaje, donde encuentro la misericordia amorosa de Dios en este mundo en particular (Mt 6,21): "Porque donde está tu tesoro, también estará tu corazón". Por supuesto, la vida me da la oportunidad de explorar más y sentir que el amor de Dios es un verdadero don incondicional para cada miembro individual de su viña. Gracias a Dios, que es tan amable y generoso con tan buenos corazones en la parroquia.
Creo que realmente fue un gran día para celebrar con la Parroquia de Santa María, los Hermanos y Hermanas de los Sagrados Corazones y amigos y mi familia, de la Isla de Wallis y Futuna, Nueva Caledonia y Francia, todos los que mostraron su continuo apoyo durante todo el año. Qué hermoso es sentir el espíritu de familia vivo y activo en nuestro mundo. Es un gran día para sentir la presencia de la familia en mi viaje. Hay muchas experiencias donde encuentro mi corazón . Espero que todos vosotros tengáis la oportunidad de ver la belleza del amor de Dios en mi vocación.
